Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! It's 75 degrees today which is making this Friday extra special for us. We have a weekend full of unpacking and organizing our house ahead of us. I'm excited we'll have good weather for it! I thought I would post a few of my favorite things/moments from this week for you.

{Baby Cuddles} I love how Roland loves to cuddle. I hold him till he falls asleep at night. Bed time is one of my favorite times. I feed him and cuddle and talk to him until he falls asleep. He sleep for three hours after his feeding at 10 pm or 11 pm. I think it's funny how your perspective changes when you have a baby. I never would have thought three hours was a long time to sleep, but now, I'm so happy when I wake up to feed him in the middle of the night and realize I got three hours of sleep.

{Girls' Night with my family!} Yesterday, we had a girls' night with both sides of our families. I think this was probably the best girls' night we've had. We had such a special time hanging out, eating dinner at a Mexican restaurant and watching Beauty and the Beast! I loved the movie. Emma Watson was amazing as Belle, and I couldn't get over how awesome the scene was where they sing, "Be our guest" to Belle.

{Playing Outside with Liam} I wrote about my first day back to work this week. Well, later that day we also played outside, and I attempted to teach Liam how to ride a scooter. He was very eager to learn! Bill's parents have a bigger scooter that I was on, and when Liam saw me on it, he had to try out the kid scooter. There's something about scooters. I think I like them better than riding a bike.

{New and Old Makeup Favorites} I have been wanting to try Burt's Bees new BB Cream ever since they came out with it. I finally bought it this week, and I love it. It feels light on my skin and still provides a medium amount of coverage. I mostly love that it's 98 percent natural. I've had the Peanut Butter and Jelly Too Faced palette for a while now, but I tried it out for the first time this week. First of all, I love how this palette smells like chocolate. The colors are amazing too. I love the brown earth tones and the purple ones as well. The purple Benefit eyeliner I have pictured has been my favorite eyeliner for around two years. It's a gel eyeliner that goes on dark. I love how it lasts all day.

{Lipsense colors} I haven't blogged about how much I like Lipsense before, but I thought it was finally time. I love this long wearing lip stain. It lasts pretty much the entire day. Bella, Mulled Wine and Napa are my favorite colors. Bella is the color I wear the most. It's more of a darker neutral that goes with everything.

Hope you enjoyed my favorites this Friday!

First Day Back to Work

Today is my first day back to work since having Roland! It's funny how I just past my due date by a few days... Who would have known he would have been born so early and be almost 10 pounds already at 5 weeks. 😂 Anyhow, this morning I woke up really early and started working at home like I have for the last few years. I grabbed my smoothie I had made the day before in my vitamix and sat down with my list ready to work. Roland is a great work buddy. He was swinging in his chair the entire time. He's such a chill baby!

I started waking up early a long time ago, because I realized I can get so much work done when I'm the only one up. It's peaceful and quiet and no one is asking me for anything. Liam usually sleeps in until 8:30 and takes a two hour nap. The days he doesn't want to nap he will play with his toys or watch a show while I get a few things done. We have a good routine.

I don't usually feel the most awake in the morning, but there is something energizing about getting up early and knowing you're about to get a lot done.

Liam woke up late after going to bed later. He had Coco Wheat for breakfast and got it on his new shirt. Hahah

Little Roland is wearing his new outfit from my mom this morning. This shirt is probably my favorite.

This kid cracks me up! I always put a blanket on him and he kicks it right off.

Outside time is a priority too. Liam loves getting outside to play. While Roland is napping it's easy to let Liam play. I can't wait for it to get warmer and bring Roland outside. It's the first day of spring and it's 60 degrees out! I cannot wait for more days like this.

Roland - One Month

Roland waking up. It's rare to see him with his eyes open.

Liam loves Roland!

Monthly Highlights: Roland, you are so loved! Your older brother, Liam, loves giving you hugs and a kiss on the head. You two are going to have so much fun together. We've brought you out a couple of times to go furniture shopping and to a Lactation appointment and of course your doctor appointments.

Weight: You were 9 pounds even on your One Month Birthday! You're growing like a weed. 😄

Height: They didn't tell me your height at your appointment. I need to update this later.

Hair: You have an abundance of light brown/blonde hair. I had an ultrasound at 30 weeks where they spotted how much hair you already had. You have way more hair than Liam did at a month.

Eyes: Bright blue!

Eating: You're eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. You usually have one three hour stretch at night.

Sleeping: right now, you are sleeping mostly for 2 to 2.5 hour stretches and one three hour stretch.

Milestones: You are looking at us when we talk to you, and you are smiling more. Your baby expressions are hilarious. I imagine you are saying, "This is riticulous!" Baby talk is so much fun. Hahah

Likes: You love to eat and be held. Your dad and I took turns holding you until you fell asleep last night.

Dislikes: You don't like waiting for your food. Who does?

Life Lately - Newborn Edition

Life Lately has been full of baby cuddles, coloring and figuring out how to entertain a two year old while I feed my newborn. Liam has been really helpful at times and has even grabbed a diaper for me. He'll give Roland a kiss and a hug goodnight. It's the sweetest thing to watch him interact with Roland especially when he tries to calm him down when he cries. I love having two boys who will have each other as best friends in life.

I took the above picture in February! Liam has enjoyed being outside and playing with the animals and jumping on the trampoline. It's crazy how warm and mild this winter has been. We've had maybe two snows. It's a strange winter. I'm excited for what the spring holds. I'm hoping for many warm days.

This is the day we took Roland home from the hospital. I love how proud Bill looks in this picture bringing home his second son. The blanket on Roland's seat is a gift from my mom for Valentine's Day. I love how soft it is. Also, how were we wearing t-shirts in February! #winterdidntcomethisyear

The baby cuddles are the best. Roland has been wanting to be held a lot. During the night, I'm pretty tired after holding him. After last night, I'm thinking I'll need to sleep in my chair for an hour or two at night, but I'm hoping it won't be an every night ordeal.

Bill got his switch, and Liam loves watching him play Zelda. Sometimes, he'll mention how something is scary on the game.

Daddy bonding time with Roland. He just loves when people hold him.

We went out with my mom and sister to Bill's favorite new bar after furniture shopping the other night. Roland slept the whole time.

Roland's blanket is from Nana, Bill's mom.

Auntie Meg getting Liam to give baby Roland a kiss. These two are so sweet together.

This little cutie is a snuggle bug. It's a good thing I got a baby carrier from my friend after Roland was born!

Baby Roland

This is my first time writing about Roland on the blog! I'm so happy to write this post finally! It's been a busy few weeks adjusting to our new routine and finishing up our projects with our house. Roland will be one month old this week! He came early at 35 weeks and 4 days. We couldn't have been more surprised!

Liam loves Roland. It's adorable to watch him put his blanket on him or help him with his nook. I need to capture more on video. Also, a nurse told me that preemies sound like gerbils. Roland's little noises are the best. There will be more videos on the blog soon. 💙💙
