33 Weeks and 2 Days - Baby Number 2

33 Weeks

 And one with Liam... ;)

How far along are you? 33 Weeks and 2 days. I'm in disbelief I'm over 30 weeks pregnant! I'm so excited to meet my little one.

Cravings: Peanut butter on white bread, green apples with peanut butter, apple sauce, Italian sandwiches from Potbelly, hot chocolate, protein in general, water, cheese, etc.

Reactions: We keep thinking about how there are only seven weeks left till we meet our little baby!

Favorite Moment this Week: I had an ultrasound last week, and the tech switched it to a 4D picture. I've never had a picture like that with Liam. I think those ultrasounds make everything much more real.

General Mood: I'm feeling very task oriented since there are only seven weeks left. I have a shopping list and a name list. We're deciding on everything soon!

Things I was surprised by: I was all happy at 29 weeks I wasn't having any pain, but now, I'm definitely experiencing some. I'm sleeping in my bed with two pillows propping me up and one under my legs. I'm surprised I'm able to sleep in my bed, but I think it helps I'm been much more in control of my weight this time around.

Things I'm most looking forward to: I'm excited to meet our baby and take care of him.
Sleep: It's going pretty good. We're all sick and Liam is having a hard time sleeping in the middle of the night so he sometimes sleeps half the night in our bed.

Measuring: At 28 weeks, I was measuring 30 centimeters. I'm going to ask what I am measuring next week at my appointment.

Food aversions: None.

Maternity Clothes: I recently bought a men's fleece from Lands End. It's super comfortable. I got it in a tall to cover my bump. I got it on sale for $26!

Baby List: Order the bassinet, the going home outfit, order the baby book and crochet his blanket.

Our 5th Anniversary!

Bill and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on Saturday! Five years! This anniversary surprised me in a way. It made me realize how fast time really does fly by. It doesn't feel like it's been 5 years since we went to Florida and got married on the beach. I still think about our wedding and how I loved every bit of it. It was simple, beautiful and everything I wanted. I remember walking down those stairs to the beach with my parents and being incredibly excited and nervous at the same time. I remember tearing up together when we were standing next to each other.

Since we got married, we've been back to Florida twice. Last year, we went with Liam for his first time to the beach! I have all of those posts from each day under January of 2016 on my blog. Anyway, I would love to have my family go to Florida next time. Mom, Meg, Phil... If you're reading this... I really want you to go! 😀

Anyway, our anniversary was a relaxed one this year since we've been sick recently and have been busy with house projects. Pretty much the whole day up until the afternoon we were busy with different things. My sister took Liam to my mom's group in the morning. They were at the trampoline park for toddler time. They jumped for a while and then Meg took him to mom's house for a long nap. My mom took him out for dinner and to Target to pick out two new stuffed animals. He ended up selecting a little giraffe and dinosaur that stand up easily since the legs have extra stuffing.

Bill and I were working doing different things till 3:30, but we got ready and went out for dinner at Ted's Montana Grill. We had a crab appetizer that was amazing! I had a sirloin steak salad and Bill had a meatloaf sandwich.

Such a good appetizer!

My salad was great. It's funny we told ourselves we were going light because we were getting an appetizer, but our appetizer wasn't as filling as we thought. It wasn't a big deal since we planned on getting ice cream at Oberweise.

Waiting for the appetizer...

 Enjoying a bison meatloaf sandwich.

After shopping and eating, we went to Oberweise where I got my favorite flavor in a waffle bowl. Black raspberry chocolate chunk is my absolute favorite. Tangy and sweet at the same time!

And one picture of us after dinner... Happy 5 years, sweetie!

Goals for 2017 and My Word for the Year!

I've talked about goals on my blog before, but I can't remember the last time I shared my new year's goals. I remember having a goal to run a half marathon in 2011. I ran it in September of 2011 in Chicago. I loved running it even though I was entirely too sore afterwards. I didn't work out for a month after running my half marathon. Ha

This year, I have a few goals planned out for myself, but I also picked out a word. My word for the year is "create." This past year, I didn't blog as much as I wanted. I wanted to focus more on capturing memories from the year that mean a lot to me, and in general, I want to write and create more. Plus, we are having our second baby this year. I'm anticipating an abundance of posts capturing all the big and small moments I never want to forget. I have a small goal to write two to three times a week on my blog to keep myself consistent throughout the year. This goals has kept me thinking about what I want to write or focus on for the first couple of weeks this month. My planner has been a huge help when it comes to blogging and my work. If I plan it out at the beginning of the week, there is a good chance I will accomplish what I want!

I also want to listen or read two books per month each month this year! I want to watch less TV and focus more on what book I want to read next. This month, I am listening to Anne of Green Gables and reading "Eligible," the modern retelling of "Pride and Prejudice!" Bill gave me "Eligible" for Christmas after he found out about it on NPR's recommendation list for books. I love this book so far, and I can't wait to review it. "Anne of Green Gables" has been fun to listen to on Audible. I love how much more satisfying it is to find a good book to delve into rather than watching a show.

This next goal pairs really well with my word for the year... I am wanting to take more pictures and upload them to Instagram. I would love to create two big custom chatbooks from my Instagram account this year. Their custom books can hold up to 366 photos per book. How awesome would be to have a huge book from the year with all my captions from Instagram?! I gave one chatbook to my mom and another to my mother-in-law for Christmas, and they seemed to love looking through all the pictures! I think they make great gifts.

Another goal I have? I want to stop myself from spending an hour or so mindlessly looking through Instagram or Facebook at night. I feel horrible for wasting my time by looking at posts instead of actually utilizing my time for something productive. Does anyone else feel this way? We only have so much time in a day, and there is always something I could be doing to accomplish a little bit more in any given day. I'm sure I could work ahead or finish up a project with the time I waste on social media. Also, I'm pretty sure the hour of work I could get done at night would help me during the day.

I love writing about the things going on right at the moment. I think it's entirely too easy to forget what was going on a month ago, especially the details. This post covers a lot of things I'm thinking about, planning for and accomplishing this month.

Reading - Eligible Bill got me Eligible off of the NPR book recommendation list. It's the modern re telling of Pride and Prejudice. I love this book so far. The characters are relatable and interesting. I love how they have modern lives and the problems and circumstances we have today. I think it's a great book!

Listening to - Anne of Greene Gables I've never read this book before, and I'm so glad I decided to get it on Audible. I love Anne's character. Her curiosity and spark for life is fun. I like listening to a book in the morning on most days when I'm starting work or trying to wake up in the morning.

Thinking of - Bill and I have been trying to brainstorm a new theme for our bathroom. Bill had an interesting idea. He suggested a woodland theme. I'm not exactly sure what this theme would mean for a bathroom, but I love how it sounds. I'm planning on doing some research and by research I mean searching "woodland theme" on Pinterest. I think I'll dedicate a separate post for this theme.

Day Dreaming about - I've been thinking about going to a museum or the Shed Aquarium lately. I love taking Liam. He's so curious and wants to see "all the things." I especially love the Shed. The coral reef they have is so beautiful, and I'm usually in the best mood after looking around. Sometimes, it's the best getting away on a winter day to enjoy something different with my family.

Planning - I've been thinking about different things I want to do in the new year. I have a few things written down that I want to change or do differently. I'm excited to see if I can maintain the changes throughout the year!

Enjoying - I've been enjoying thinking about all the change we are about to experience in the next few months. I don't think I've ever experienced this much change at once. I've been enjoying it so much that I haven't had much brain space for anything else lately. Haha It's possible I have a bit of baby brain right now. There's too much going on at the moment to escape it!

Planning - I've been planning blog posts for our anniversary. I wanted to post pictures from our wedding and a few from our honeymoon. I kind of can't wait to write about. I'm also writing a list of things I want to do before our new baby joins us in March. I think the things I'm planning will help us all have a smooth transition.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

The day after Christmas is my mom's birthday. I always want to try and make it a special birthday even if it's the day after Christmas! Ha This year, that meant hanging out watching a movie at her house and then going out to dinner at Houlihan's at the commons. Bill and I used to go there once a week when we were dating. There's such good memories at Houlihan's! We would have dinner there and walk over to Barnes and Noble. We were trying to pick a good place for dinner that would be good for Liam too. My mom found something good to eat even on her special diet. She isn't eating cake right now so we didn't order any dessert after dinner. We had a great time hanging out together.

Phil was there earlier in the day, and we took a few pictures to appease my mom on her birthday. I love the way this one turned out. The weather was so mild for Illinois leading up to Christmas and New Year's Eve. It find it funny none of us needed to wear a winter coat for pictures like last year. I love when winter takes a break at least for a few days. We're back to weather in the teen's tomorrow, and I'm completely dreading it!

 One with Liam!

I love how Liam got into the picture taking on mom's birthday!

Liam helped open birthday presents... He finds a present and HAS to open it. :p

Having fun at dinner drawing dinosaurs with dad.

 Love you!
Happy Birthday, mom! I hope you had a special birthday with us! Love you so much!

And one of our family... Liam is saying, "CHEESE!"
