January Randoms

My random favorites from this month are...

1. Experiencing our first flight with Liam and bringing Liam to the beach. Our Florida trip was an awesome time together. I loved introducing Liam to the beach and having him explore. He ended up loving the sand and the water. Those videos and pictures are some of my all time favorites.

I blogged each day on our Florida trip. I wanted to remember EVERYTHING.

Here are the posts:

First Flight with Liam
First Time at the Beach!
Fun at the Greek Festival
Turns out, Liam LOVES the BEACH!
We touched a STINGRAY!
A day on the BOAT
DATE DAY in FLORIDA
Goodbye Florida :(

2. Jumping with my mom's group. We took our kids to this awesome trampoline place the other week. We had a blast jumping in the different areas with the kids. Auntie Meg came with us too. We had Pot Belly's afterwards and made a quick stop at Target.

3. Celebrated our fourth anniversary at the boat. We had a classic movie and dinner date for our fourth anniversary. It was fun watching the new Star War's movie and eating dinner at the boat. The buffet was pretty good.

4. Slow mornings making french toast together. We have had a lot of mornings lately where there is time to make french toast and enjoy a slower morning.

5. Creating sensory bottles. I love the idea of making a fun sensory bottle for Liam. My first attempt didn't go as planned. I put way too much glitter in the first bottle. I need a redo, but I'm still loving the idea of this.

6. Reminiscing about Christmas. We probably had the best Christmas this year. It was a lot of fun having a long weekend to celebrate Christmas and my mom's birthday the day after. We watched a bunch of the movies I gave her including Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride II. Phil suggested we watch the second one in the same day. I personally thought that was the sweetest thing. Needless to say, I have spent most of January wishing we could relive Christmas. #ChristmasObsessed

7. We celebrated my Dad's birthday this month. We had pork chops and chicken at his house, and Megan made German Chocolate Cake since it's my dad's favorite. How sweet! Liam enjoyed running around dad's house. He loves to do laps.

8. Visited the Shed Aquarium. We had an amazing time at the Shedd this month. It was a free day, and we spent $20 to visit all the exhibits. The Coral Reef was by far our favorite thing to explore at the Shedd. It's truly amazing. We even went twice to see everything again. I love having those memories with Liam even if he won't remember.

9. Hanging out with Meg. We've been hanging out quite a bit. Sometimes, we just hang out at each others houses. Meg always notices her house is trashed when we leave. I wonder why? ;)

10. Baking cookies even after the holidays. I love doing this. This idea goes back to reminiscing about the holidays. I love baking cookies for this exact reason. I love this recipe for Ginger Bread Cookies. They always turn out good. I like putting red cinnamon disks on them.

11. Bill put a backslpash in our kitchen this month! He got me it as surprise for Christmas. I was so happy with the tiles he picked out. It was exactly what I had wanted. He installed it one afternoon, and it only took him an hour. Amazing! We also picked out the silver grout that looks awesome. It definitely compliments the tile.

Fun Trip to the Shedd

Occasionally, I'll check for free days in Chicago, and I was so excited for the free day at the Shedd! Bill and I decided to go  on Tuesday with Liam.
I love that we get to go in the shorter line because we have a stroller. ;)

Liam was great. He loved the fish.

The cutest little fish you've ever seen!

Little turtle pushing past a lung fish. Lol

Lunch time!

Watching the Aquatic show!

Cutie

The belugas were awesome!

We had access to all the exhibits, and the coral reef was the best part! Bill loved it too!

The clam was pretty cool! Can you guess which one it was?
I force Bill to take some pictures. Haha He was impressed at how much I was paying attention. When we started dating, I wasn't into museums as much, but they've grown on me in the past few years.

We watched this starfish flip back up!

We saw a quick movie on sea monsters where we got sprayed by several monsters while we sat in the audience.

We wore cool 3D glasses.

What a cutie!

Cool view from the cafe.

Liam played with an older kid when we visited this kid area. The older toddler kept saying, "Touch this button, baby." And when Liam would fall, he would ask, "What are you doing, baby?"

It was the sweetest thing watching him interact with another kid.

The oddest fish I've ever seen.

About to leave the Shedd! We were all bundled up and Liam was fast asleep in his stroller.

I love being close to Chicago!

Our 4th Anniversary

I can't believe we just celebrated our 4th anniversary. It's crazy how fast time is going. I'm pretty reflective on our wedding anniversary. I think about our wedding in Florida. I'm literally still happy with all the decisions we made. I'm thankful that Bill wanted a beach wedding as much as I did. It was simple and elegant. Our wedding made sense for us.

We spent our fourth anniversary by going to Star Wars Force Awakening and then had dinner at the boat. I think we've had a lot of special occasion dinners at the boat. Good times.

It's hard to be healthy at a buffet. Haha

The little cappacinos are my favorite. Bill loves them too.

I love how they have mirrors as decorations in their restaurant.

 Love him so much!

 Bill drinking his cappuccino.

And our classic selfie picture.

Bill,

I'm so happy to have you as my partner in life. You make me incredibly happy. I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else.

Love you to the moon and back a million times over.

Love,

Me

Liam - 13 Months

Who loves the beach?! I do!!

Get your wookie on!

My new favorite way to smile. :)

Monthly Highlights:

Going to Florida for a week was the biggest highlight

Weight: 24 pounds 4 ounces (Last weighted at 12 months)

Height: 31 inches (Last measured at 12 months.

Hair: Your hair is blonde and brown with a hint of red. Your hair glistens in the sun. Your Papa told me it was easy to spot us when he was picking us up from the airport because of your hair. There aren't many people who have hair like yours.

Eyes: You have true blue almond shaped eyes that we love.

Teeth: You have your two teeth on the bottom, but I can tell your top two teeth are coming in soon.

Clothes: 2T shirts and 18 month pants or 12-18 month pants

My current favorite shirt of yours is a Star Wars shirt that reads, "Get your Wookie on."

Eating: You are eating three meals a day. You like eggs or cereal in the morning, just about anything in for lunch like grilled cheese.

We think you might be allergic to strawberries. :( Your mouth gets red when you eat them so we are pretty sure.

Sleeping: You are still sleeping through the night with no problem. In Florida we had you in a pack n play in our room, and you still slept great. You would wake up in the morning and stand up at one side to find out which parent would wake up first. It was adorable.

Milestones: This month, we went on a family vacation to Florida where we met your Nana and Papa in Jensen Beach for a week. They picked us up from the airport, and you fell asleep right away in your car seat. You had the best time on the beach after you got used to the sand. It was adorable how you would pick up the sand and shake it off your hands.

Saying: You have said mama before. I heard it on the trip when we went to Florida. I got out of the car and got back in, and you looked at me and said, "mama." Last night, I thought for sure you were saying, "hi." You said it several times, but I didn't know if you knew what you were saying.

Likes: You like throwing your toys now. I try not to laugh too much. The other night we were playing catch together with one of your little bath toys. You are too cute for words.

Other things you like are...

brushing your teeth
eggs
cereal
yogurt
balls
chewing on nooks
toys that talk or sing
talking
being read to before bed time
KIDZ BOP and Baby Lullaby Radio on Pandora
Playing catch
making funny noises
growling
climbing in your toy basket
smiling and throwing your head back at the same time
laughing
your read scooter

Dislikes:

Getting dressed
Your gate in the living room
 Putting your winter coat on

Outings:

trip to Florida
play date with our group
hanging out at Mimi's house
first air plane ride
played on the beach
got splashed by a wave
went on a boat ride with Florida cousins
touched a sting ray

Goodbye Florida

Liam was so cute walking on the beach.

One last time playing in the sand.
Picture with Nana and Papa.

Picture with Nana.

I want to chase that bird....

Benches are fun!

Enjoying the fun Florida grass.

Heyyy, can you pick me up now?

We had a chill day for our last day in Florida. We started off the morning on the beach for a last time. The water was so warm even though it was 55 degrees out in the am. Every time we go to Florida, I get attached to the beach, the sound of the waves, the seagulls, and everything else beautiful about the beach. I have the hardest time saying goodbye.

The nice part about the flight home? Liam slept for almost the entire flight. He was so tired. I think that was the trick we discovered. When he's really really tired from skipping a nap, he can fall asleep on the plane.
