Life Lately

Hey friends! I haven't written one of these posts in a while, and I thought now would be a good time. :) Bill has been trying to tame Kevin. He used to be super friendly, but now, he won't run up to us as much when we call his name. Bill caught him the other day and pet him for a while. Kevin wasn't too enthused about it. Ha

I've been taking Kittle for walks when I have the energy. She loves every minute of being outside and exploring everything she comes in contact with during the walk.

I've been crocheting a more lately. I made this scarf last week in an hour. It's a super thick yarn, and it was done in no time! I gave this blue one to a friend for her birthday. They make good gifts this time of the year!

I ordered some of the same bulky yarn, because I couldn't find the colors I wanted in the store. I can't wait to make a couple of purple and pink scarfs to wear this fall and winter!

Meg, my sister, asked for a picture of my belly the other day. I had to stick my toe out in order to see it in the picture! Meg got a kick out of it! Ha

My mom made homemade tomato soup with the tomatoes from her garden the other week, and Bill and I were in heaven when we ate it. I've never had better tomato soup!

I've been taking a lot of pictures of me and Bill on our dates lately. I guess I'm savoring these last few weeks where it's just me and him. Soon, we'll have Liam here, and it's all so surreal and exciting!

What have you been up to lately?
If you crochet, what have you been making?

Thoughts about Labor

16. "It was totally worth it!!"

I recently stumbled across this gem of an article, and I couldn't help but write about it! Women's Health published 16 Things Every Woman Thinks During Labor. The thoughts they list are hysterical. I completely agreed with numbers 2, 8, 12, and 16. They made me laugh and get all excited for this!

I'm wanting a natural birth with no drugs, and I've been preparing by reading the Bradley Method book. A book on natural child birth. It's super helpful if you're looking for one.

My thoughts are all a jumble right now! I can't believe I'll be in labor in less than 7 weeks! I'm only planning on having Bill and my mom with me the entire time during the labor and delivery. I'm a very private person and introvert, and there's no way anyone else is coming in the room. I'll have my best supporters with me....My awesome husband and mom. I'm lucky to have them.

I'm curious friends.
Who did you allow in the room with you?
What thoughts did you have before giving birth?
Or who are you planning on allowing to be with you?
Do you feel the need for privacy like me?

Fall Walk with Kittle

Fall walks are one of my favorite things to do especially with our family dog, Kitty.

(Side note: Phil, my brother, named her Kitty as joke. :) We also call her Kittle, Chucky, Chuckles or whatever you want. Her nicknames are endless.)
This was a particularly warm day for fall when the leaves were just starting to change.
Kitty was so happy to be out and walking. She loves the outdoors!
I tried to get her to pose next to the golden corn stalks. She matches and all you know. Never mind my hand in the picture.
Here you go... We both mastered the profile pose.
Kitty LOVES horses!
Sometimes, I'll lift her up, and she'll say hi to them. She's mesmerized by these magnificent animals.
Just watchin....
Checking out their place.

My little hot puppy.

Partially in summer and partially in fall! I'm going to miss the summer. Is that a funny thing to say when it's mid October? I'm holding on tight to my summer memories.

We also explored mom's garden a bit.
Love the little decorations she has out.

Kitty was tired after her walk.
Mmmmm Nap time!

Her famous frog leg pose.

So tell me friends...
Does the leaves changing make you wish for the holidays?
Or do you miss summer even more?
Or both?
Let me know what you think!

30 Weeks

How far along are you? 30 weeks and 3 days! I can't believe I have 10 more weeks left! I know it will go by fast, relatively speaking. :)

Cravings: Pickles and peanut butter with toast. I've been having exactly that each morning. The pickle is for the third trimester morning nausea, and I'm craving peanut butter probably because of the protein in it! Oh, I'm still eating apples too.

Reactions: Someone who I don't know very well mentioned that I look like I'm about ready to pop. I didn't appreciate that one so much at all. I'm 30 weeks not 40 weeks.

If anything, I'm learning to not care what people think of my shape! It really doesn't matter at all. Ha

Favorite moment this week: My favorite moment? Probably when my doctor told me that it doesn't matter what position the baby is in till week 36. I was relieved when she said that! No need to worry or think about that for now.

Fears: None right now.

General Mood: Anxious and Happy. I'm anxious to meet our baby and to have a break from being pregnant!

Things I was surprised by: I'm just under 6 weeks away from having weekly doctor visits. I can't imagine going every week. I keep feeling like I'm really getting close to the end even though there are 10 weeks to go.

The baby's movement is getting much more intense when he kicks! He's getting stronger and bigger, and I love it. We can't wait to meet you, Liam!

Things I'm most looking forward to: I'm very much looking forward to my sister coming home in November! I cannot wait to see her and hang out. It's been over a year since we have seen each other! Plus, when she gets home, I'll be 2 weeks away from giving birth! It will be a very exciting time for our family.

Sleep: Sleep is getting more uncomfortable as I'm getting bigger. My hips and back are starting to ache, and I dread waking up in the morning because I'm nauseous. I'm learning to get up anyway and eat a pickle right away. It helps so much!

What I think is really cool and amazing: My bump measured at 33 centimeters this week. I'm at the bigger end of normal, and I'm wondering if the baby's birth weight will reflect that. Maybe we'll have an 8 lb. baby? That's my guess for sure.

Food aversions: None that I can think of right now.

Maternity Clothes: I'm loving the new winter clothes I got while I'm pregnant. They're comfortable and fit so well. Macy's has been my favorite place to shop for maternity clothes. They have a small selection, but everything they have is high quality. They also  have pretty good sales/deals.

Exercise: I'm still exercising. I'm doing my favorite exercise video 1 to 2 times a week, and the rest of time, I'm walking or doing a few exercises at night that help ease the aches and pains. I'm loving my walks with Kittle.

Although, this week, I went for a walk earlier in the day when it was sunny, and I got a migraine a few minutes after coming home. I should have known to go later or wear sunglasses. I got a migraine before from washing my car in direct sun light in the morning. Not good!

Love Life Conference

A couple of weeks ago, my mom and I went to the Love Life Conference in St. Louis, MO! We left on a Thursday, and the conference lasted till Saturday. We had such a great time! I was a little worried about the almost 5 hour car ride, but thank God, it was perfectly fine. I didn't even feel sick! We stopped a couple of hours into our drive there for lunch at Culvers.

There was a session on Thursday night and two on Friday and Saturday at the Edward Jones Dome. Friday was by far my favorite with the Black and White Party they had and the beautiful confetti falling from the ceiling. It was so beautiful!!

We took notes from each speaker, and I can honestly say I enjoyed each teaching session and learned a lot about following God's direction and facing our fears.

The Black and White Party Friday night. :)

We were awestruck by all of it! It was so pretty!

Kind of striking resemblance between me and my mo from the pictures above!

The worship team did such a great job! Loved their free spirits!
Joyce Meyer before one of her talks. :)

I had so much fun with you, mom!

The last day of the conference we walked around the city and had a picnic lunch by the capital building and the arch. We had fun taking pictures by the arch and people watching.
Ahh... I can't believe that's my belly!

Beautiful mom!

I snapped a few quick pictures of the city from the car as we were leaving.

We stopped at the new Avantis when we were in Bloomington on our way home. The food was pretty average, but it brought back good memories from when Megan went to Illinois State. :)

I'm so glad I went to this conference!
