26 Weeks & 5 Days


How far along are you? 26 weeks and 5 days this Sunday! I feel like I'm making it to the final stretch. I'm already counting down the weeks! I'm excited. :)

Cravings: No real cravings at this point. Although, I'm wanting apples all the time so that is probably the only craving right now.

Reactions: Bill and my brother, Phil, have both at separate times walked up to me and poked my belly making a noise like it's going to pop at any moment. It's pretty hilarious.

My mom will randomly touch my belly. She's super excited to be a Grandma! She's going to be awesome at this new role. I think she's perfect for it. :)

Favorite moment this week: I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday I noticed the baby a lot! He was moving around and my stomach was popping up, and at one point he pushed so hard on my right side that I saw my stomach higher in one area than it's ever been! My stomach looked and felt so crazy in that moment. It definitely surprised me!

Fears: None right now! Thank goodness. All my previous fears have been eliminated by good reasoning from Bill, my mom, and friends.

General Mood: Good but lacking energy. I need to work out on a schedule throughout the week. I feel energized and my body feels stronger when I do.

Things I was surprised by: I still can't believe how crazy my stomach looks in the morning when he's kicking and moving around. It's probably my favorite part of the day. :)

Things I'm most looking forward to: Every morning when I'm watching him move, I keep daydreaming about seeing our baby's face for the first time and being able to hold him and give him a kiss. I can't wait till he's born! I'm going to be on cloud nine for sure!

Sleep: I sleep propped up throughout the night like I'm sitting in a rocking chair. I find it too hard to sleep on my side throughout the night. I don't know how people do that when pregnant. You have all that extra weight in your stomach, and you're putting it on one side in that sleeping position. It's extremely uncomfortable for me. Ha I love sleeping when I'm basically in a sitting position propped up by pillows.

What I think is really cool and amazing: My ever growing belly. I had a huge growth spurt these past couple of weeks. After the 23rd week, I really started to get big!

Food aversions: Quinoa. My mom made this beautiful meal last week, and I loved everything on the plate except quinoa. I couldn't fathom eating it with the little sprouts coming out. Other than that, I haven't had any food aversions this whole pregnancy. Also, I don't have any aversions to food smells either. I'm lucky. :)

Maternity Clothes: Yes, I'm wearing all maternity clothes and have been for a while! I recently got two sweaters from Destination Maternity that I love. It turned cold here in Illinois this week!

Exercise: I'm going to get back on track with working out to my favorite DVDs. I've been good about doing squats almost every day though! I heard from a family friend that they help when it comes to labor so I haven't been skipping on those. Plus, squats are one of the only exercises that help my body feel really good! I feel so much stronger after I do 50 to 90 of them! They're definitely a part of my nightly routine.
