Crazy Pregnancy Dreams

Fat puppies and chubby babies are probably the best. There's so much cuteness in this photo. I don't know how this baby is sleeping with all the puppies on him!

I've been having some crazy pregnancy dreams lately. Last night, Bill and I ate late and went to bed soon after. I had the weirdest dreams and so did Bill!

Here's what mine looked like.

Panicking about a class:

I had this dream before being pregnant, but it was more intense this time. I got super nervous because it was the middle of the semester in college, and I just remembered that I had forgotten about my math class. I just stopped going to it after a few classes, and then mid terms came and went and I remembered I had a math class! It was basically my worst nightmare to have a math class. I woke up from that dream and realized that I'm not in college and my jobs have nothing to do with math! Woohoo!! I hate anything to do with math if you can't tell.

Boy Mom Dream:

I had a dream where Bill and I had our baby boy, and we just knew we were going to keep having boys. At the end of the dream, we had three boys! Ha. This dream is kind of my favorite. I always thought I would be a boy mom even before we knew we were having a boy. Naturally, I kind of believe this dream, but we'll have to wait and find out. :)

Iraq Dream:

This is by far the weirdest dream I've had. My mom, Bill, my brother Phil, and my sister Megan and I were driving together. Phil started talking about how he was going on a trip, and he was going to bring Megan. I was jealous that he was only bringing Megan. I kept asking him where he was going, and he finally told me that he was going to Iraq. I was so upset that I wasn't going with them to Iraq that I jumped out of the moving car and walked away. LOL I still have no idea why Phil was going to Iraq or why I  wanted to go with him!!

There's been more dreams, but I can't remember them at the moment. I think I'll keep on documenting them this way when I have some more odd ones.

Anyone else experience crazy dreams while pregnant?

28 Weeks & 2 Days

How far along are you? 28 Weeks & 2 days! I can't believe I'm talking about myself when I say that! I really feel like I'm in the home stretch! 12 more weeks! Yay. :)

Cravings: Maybe pizza? I'm not sure though, because pizza always sounds good.

Regular apples and homemade applesauce have definitely been a craving! My body craves fruits and vegetables. Especially apples.

My mom gave me homemade applesauce that she made this week, and I haven't stopped craving it since. I need to learn  how to make it fast! Ha

Reactions: One of my favorites from this week was Bill's reaction to my stomach... "How do you move with you're stomach being so big." Ha

It's definitely hard to move for sure at times. :)

I told my sister Megan that I bought a bigger size in shirts this week, and she laughed and said, "You're getting so big!"

I find these reactions hilarious. They kind of make my week!

Favorite moment this week: When I went to my doctor appointment, and my doctor told me that I passed my glucose test! Yay!! I tend to worry about things like that for no reason, and it was a relief for her to tell me I was okay.

Fears: None right now.

General Mood: Happy and anxious. I can't wait to get the baby room put together! Bill's parents went with us to buy us a crib this week. Fortunately, we picked out a crib that fits with our theme that we kind of threw together! I can't wait to show you what it will look like and the theme we chose. It's perfect and fits both Bill's taste and mine!

I'm ordering a glider chair for the baby's room next week, and of course, I'm super excited to check that off my list. We're going to love having a comfortable to chair to rock the baby to sleep in and to fall asleep with him!

Things I was surprised by: I had my 28 week checkup yesterday, and when I went to schedule my next appointment they told me I would be coming every two weeks now! I knew that I would be coming more frequently when I got farther along, but I didn't realize that it would be so soon! After 34 weeks, I'll come every week. I literally am so excited for our baby. I love him so much already.

Things I'm most looking forward to: I'm hoping to give birth before Christmas which I think is totally doable since they might not let me go over a week past my due date anyway! My due date is December 16. I can't wait to have our baby and bring him home. I can't wait to celebrate Christmas as a family with Bill! I just know this will be the best Christmas for both of us.

Another thing I can't wait for? I'm really excited for Megan to come home on Thanksgiving and stay for around a month! We all miss her so much and can't wait to visit with her. :)

Sleep: I'm still sleeping really good by propping myself up against my headboard. This morning, the baby actually woke me up with his kicking! I couldn't believe it. I kept thinking since I'm such a sound sleeper that that wouldn't happen, but it did! I love all his kicks and found it cute that he's already waking me up! Ha

What I think is really cool and amazing: I'm pretty amazed by the Rhogam shot ever since talking to my good friend Sarah. We've been friends since we were kids, and I feel pretty lucky to have her as a friend for many reasons. She explained the Rhogam shot to me and what it does for people with RH negative blood, like me, and I felt completely calm and ready to get my shot this week because of her. Thanks, friend!

The story behind the Rhogam shot is pretty amazing. I'm so thankful I'm having babies now and not before this shot was established! Read about it here.

Food aversions: None! I haven't been bothered by the smell of different foods either like other pregnant women.

Maternity Clothes: My shirts got really short last week! They stopped covering everything they need to cover so I picked up a couple of long sleeved shirts in a bigger size. I'm feeling much more comfortable now. It was annoying to pull my shirt down to have it cover everything only to realize it was exposing me up top! Ha

Exercise: Squats and walking are my favorite form of exercise now. It makes me feel strong! Plus, squats are good for labor so I won't be quitting that routine!

Favorite Photos from this Week

On Sunday, I fell asleep on a golf cart at the farm while Bill worked on his truck. It was hot in the sun even though it was a relatively cool day!

I had breakfast at Eggsclusive with my mother-in-law. I had a Southern omelet that was super spicy. I think it's my new favorite there even though I'm not a breakfast person!

I took Kittle to her haircut right after breakfast. She came back with this cute scarf on and an adorable new hair cut!

Waiting for me to get out of the car. *Cutie*

Bill looking so cute! Love him. :)

Last night, Bill and I went on a date to Houlihans! We used to go there a lot when we were dating. I love how many memories we have there. :)

Bill had the Pot Roast Macaroni and Cheese. He loved it.

I had Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo which is my usual go-to. We made the usual stops at Goodwill, Play N Trade, and Trader Joe's. Next time, we're going to make a point to go to Barnes and Noble after dinner. We love hanging out at bookstores!

A Baby Shower!

Last Saturday, my friend Sarah and her mom threw me a baby shower! They decorated, baked, and planned all of it for me! I was so thrilled with the decorations and everything in general. They did such a great job, and I feel so special that they would do that for me.

How precious is this "baby" inside a watermelon?? I love that idea and the ribbon!

We had around 20 people at the shower. Everyone wrote advice on a note card, and I read them aloud. My friends and family also decorated diapers too. So cute!
Reading the advice cards!

Awesome friends!
Jenny, Paula and Sylvia
Sweet neighbors and friends Penny and Krissy!
My awesome friends Lynn and Michelle

I didn't even know my mom took this picture!
Bill playing with the light up frog we got! We both loved that toy!

Thank you Sarah and Sally for throwing me an awesome shower!! I had such a good time!

I couldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate our baby! We had a great time!

26 Weeks & 5 Days

How far along are you? 26 weeks and 5 days this Sunday! I feel like I'm making it to the final stretch. I'm already counting down the weeks! I'm excited. :)

Cravings: No real cravings at this point. Although, I'm wanting apples all the time so that is probably the only craving right now.

Reactions: Bill and my brother, Phil, have both at separate times walked up to me and poked my belly making a noise like it's going to pop at any moment. It's pretty hilarious.

My mom will randomly touch my belly. She's super excited to be a Grandma! She's going to be awesome at this new role. I think she's perfect for it. :)

Favorite moment this week: I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday I noticed the baby a lot! He was moving around and my stomach was popping up, and at one point he pushed so hard on my right side that I saw my stomach higher in one area than it's ever been! My stomach looked and felt so crazy in that moment. It definitely surprised me!

Fears: None right now! Thank goodness. All my previous fears have been eliminated by good reasoning from Bill, my mom, and friends.

General Mood: Good but lacking energy. I need to work out on a schedule throughout the week. I feel energized and my body feels stronger when I do.

Things I was surprised by: I still can't believe how crazy my stomach looks in the morning when he's kicking and moving around. It's probably my favorite part of the day. :)

Things I'm most looking forward to: Every morning when I'm watching him move, I keep daydreaming about seeing our baby's face for the first time and being able to hold him and give him a kiss. I can't wait till he's born! I'm going to be on cloud nine for sure!

Sleep: I sleep propped up throughout the night like I'm sitting in a rocking chair. I find it too hard to sleep on my side throughout the night. I don't know how people do that when pregnant. You have all that extra weight in your stomach, and you're putting it on one side in that sleeping position. It's extremely uncomfortable for me. Ha I love sleeping when I'm basically in a sitting position propped up by pillows.

What I think is really cool and amazing: My ever growing belly. I had a huge growth spurt these past couple of weeks. After the 23rd week, I really started to get big!

Food aversions: Quinoa. My mom made this beautiful meal last week, and I loved everything on the plate except quinoa. I couldn't fathom eating it with the little sprouts coming out. Other than that, I haven't had any food aversions this whole pregnancy. Also, I don't have any aversions to food smells either. I'm lucky. :)

Maternity Clothes: Yes, I'm wearing all maternity clothes and have been for a while! I recently got two sweaters from Destination Maternity that I love. It turned cold here in Illinois this week!

Exercise: I'm going to get back on track with working out to my favorite DVDs. I've been good about doing squats almost every day though! I heard from a family friend that they help when it comes to labor so I haven't been skipping on those. Plus, squats are one of the only exercises that help my body feel really good! I feel so much stronger after I do 50 to 90 of them! They're definitely a part of my nightly routine.

Trip to Phil's

Last Sunday, my mom, Bill, and I went to Phil's apartment in Chicago to visit with him! I had a great time exploring his cute neighborhood. The streets were lined with unique stores and restaurants. It was awesome. First we had some lunch. Everyone but me had sushi.

I had a really good soup. I loved the broth. We walked around for a while. Bill had researched video game shops in the area and found a good one. He found a rare controller that he has never found before so that was cool. I needed a pick-me-up afterwards so we went and got a strawberry banana smoothie. It was amazing!

Mom and I walked into a designer sample shop where she found a cute cross body bag in a adorable lavender color. We went back to Phil's place afterwards and had apple pie. In this picture, Phil must be reacting to something goofy I said. Ha Love his expression!

He's not a huge fan of pictures. ;)
Mom on the other hand loves pictures!
Bill and I about to leave for home. We had such a good time with you, Phil!
I love this picture! Phil shirt cracks me up. "Don't hassle me I'm local."

I'm wishing I had of worn capris or something. I think this particular pregnancy shirt will look much better with capris or pants. You can't tell, but I'm wearing shorts in this picture. I don't know how the shirt could be so long! Ha

I've been searching for the right purse lately. I returned the one from the previous pictures. I only had it for a couple of days. This purple purse above is one I got from Coach last October. I'm enjoying using it again! It's funny how I realized I really liked a purse that I already had.

Coach, of course, isn't selling this one anymore, but they have a few shoulder bags that are pretty cute!

Check out this one.

Or even this one is cute! Although, I'm a bigger fan out the outlet versions!

Happy Monday, friends!

September Goals

Happy first week of September to you! I'm ready for fall even though I'll miss the warmth of summer! I'm going to start a new tradition at the beginning of each month by writing a list of goals for myself. Here are my goals for September!

1. Read 2 Books this month

I would love to have this be a reoccurring goal for me. Whenever I write things down that I want to do, I almost always do them. That way I won't only read 2 to 3 books per year. Lets do this!

2. Find Organizational Shelves for Baby's Closet

After a couple of months of donating many things, I'm ready to start looking for a shelving unit that would fit in the closet. I want to be able to store blankets, onesies, and other odds and ends. Preferably, I'd like to have something that doesn't require assembly.

3. Sew a couple of scarves for fall

I haven't sewn many scarves since last fall, but I'm wanting to do that this month. I love picking out fabric from Joann Fabric. The options are plentiful compared to what you find in stores.

Of course we are in the process of getting our baby boy's room together. I'm wanting to have it painted before my shower in a couple of weeks. We officially have 15 more weeks till we meet our first born. Can't wait!
