A New Addiction

I discovered OPI nail polish for Sephora today. I found out that it has less chemicals in it than regular OPI, and it doesn't chip after you've worn it for a while. I don't think I will be buying any of the regular OPI again, especially now that I know the line for Sephora is better. (The woman I talked to said that OPI is considering revamping all of their lines.) I bought a couple of them that were a metallic shade for light lilac purple and silver. I am completely hooked on any color that is metallic with some sparkle to it.

Also, I found out that they have Glee nail polish. How cool is that?
I'm not really sure why I like painting my nails so much, but I love it! I like havig that extra splash of color to look at during the day. I feel like there should be lots of color during the summer as well...

These colors make me think of summer so much, which reminds me tomorrow is the first day of August. I am feeling the need to make the most of summer. I can't believe we only have one month left. Although, September is still warm and feels like summer. I wish we could have that weather year round. I like to dream...

Billy's Birthday

On Monday, we celebrated Bill's birthday at his parent's house. It was really sweet how almost all his nieces were standing around before he blew out his candles. Very cute.
His sister, Katie, preparing the cake!
I love their homemade red velvet cake. Delicious.
Billy blowing out his candles. Happy Birthday, babe!

This cake was moist and delicious.
I love this picture of me and Bill's niece. We matched!
Bill's other adorable niece. She looks so cute in her Pocahontas outfit!

Picture of the birthday boy!

Hanging out on the hammock.
 Sweet summer days.
I like how Tracie's hair is flying behind her. Cool action shot.
Waiting our turns. I hadn't played crochet since last year with Billy's family. It was beautiful outside.
We ended the night by looking at his new kitchen aide. I think he's going to love having it in his house. You can make so much with it!

I've always been a big fan of birthdays, and of course, I loved celebrating Bill's birthday. I adored picking out gifts and thinking about how we were going to celebrate. Birthdays always make me reflect on past events and things that have happened. I love it most of the time, but sometimes I think too much.

Anyways, this week, I want to celebrate more since his birthday was on a Monday. After all, it is his birthday week or month. ;) Ha Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Without Structure

I thrive with having a schedule. I took four sessions of summer school during college just so I would have a routine.  Also, I like knowing at least one thing I'm going to do during the day. It helps me use the rest of my time wisely. For instance, my plans changed, and it threw me for a loop. Not for the whole day though. Only for a little bit though. It goes without saying, I am completely an A type personality.

I love having my ducks lined up in a row as the saying goes... My mom says I'm a perfectionist. I like denying it sometimes, even though I know it's true.

So, you might be wondering what happens when I don't have a schedule to rely on?

One. I busy myself by running errands. I buy a new charger for my macbook. I've been needing one for over a week now. I decided it was about time that I could charge my computer and be able to actually move my computer from the couch to the coffee table and still have it charging.

Two.  I paint my nails until each toe looks perfect even though I just painted them the other day. I found a different berry color that was pretty, and plus, I just love painting my nails. :)

Three. I go for a long run that I have been wanting to do for days, but it has been WAY too HOT. Running helps me blow off steam and feel good about myself.

Four. I make a homemade pizza and keep it for lunches during the week so I don't have to worry about it.

Five. I hang out watching Sex & The City. My moms commentary is hilarious, but you wouldn't like to hear what she says about Carrie if you like her. Carrie is one of those characters that drives my mom crazy. I don't completely mind, because Charelete is my favorite character. I really like her personality.

It actually was a pretty decent day, but I felt like it took me forever to get going. I'm definitely not left wondering why I love schedules so much!

Do you ever feel this way?

P.S. Here's a little preview of my weekend. We spent Saturday by the lake and had such a great time!

Happy Weekend!

I am so excited for this weekend!! I'm looking forward to being outside pretty much the whole weekend. I want to get a long run since I haven't run at all this week. It's been in the mid 90's here in Illinois. Way too hot to run.

Anyways, I wanted to share with you something that me and my mom have been listening to and showing everybody. It's Anna Graceman from America's Got Talent singing It's a Wonderful World. We love listening to her voice. It's amazing!

Weekend In Photos

This past weekend was extremely hot much like this week.  Billy and I went to Chicago and thought that it might be a little bit cooler there, but it wasn't at all. We still had a good time, but we definitely felt worn out after walking around downtown in the ninety degree weather. We went to the Hancock building and ate at the Cheese Cake Factory. I love getting there lemonade that they have. It hit the spot!

After lunch, we went to Navy Pier and had fun people watching. Bill got his roasted pecans that he always gets there.  There wasn't a whole lot going on there so we walked back on Michigan Avenue. I was happy we got to see the new Marylin Monroe statue that blew me away. I was amazed at how large it was and by how many people were surrounding it and taking photographs. It was awesome being up close to it.

Other than that, we spent the weekend relaxing and swimming. That's pretty much all I want to do this summer: RELAX. :)

A New Center Piece

My mom displayed this center piece in our house this weekend, and  I loved how just a few flowers was enough to make it look beautiful. I also really like how the flowers lay on the water. It's amazing how certain decorations make a home comforting.

Picnic At The Castle

Yesterday, Bill picked me up from my work, and we ate lunch near the castle at NIU, our alma mater. I could just stare at that castle for hours... We sat near it and ate sub sandwiches and salad. It was awesome getting to see each other during the day and just be together.

We reminisced about how we walked on the same path when we first started dating. ;)

I had to get at least one picture with the castle behind us. I love that we still spend time at the place we both went to school and worked. It always brings back good memories.
