Our First Concert!

On Monday, we went to the Jethro Tull Concert. It was the first concert me and Bill have ever been to. (At least this big of one.) The band, America, opened for Jethro Tull. They were pretty good, but I definitely enjoyed Jethro Tull's performance so much more! They were so into what they were doing, and I never knew how good the flute sounded. My mom told me they would be awesome, and she was right.

I could tell how much Bill was enjoying the concert by how focused he was when they started to play. He was leaned forward, and there was definitely minimal talking going on between us. It was a huge difference between when America was playing! We talked through most of that.

I didn't end up taking many pictures during the concert since it was prohibited, but I snapped one or two just because everyone else was. After the concert, we went to Friday's with Bill's parents, his sister Tracie, and brother Tom. I napped on the way home, but I didn't feel that bad when I went into work the next day. The concert and the time with Bill and his family was definitely worth it!

This weekend, I am going with Bill and his whole family to a wedding. I can't wait to party!! Plus, it's 4th of July weekend-it's going to be great!

Training Update: I ran 6 miles in the 50 minute range. I am so pumped about it, because I ran 5 miles in 54 minutes for the Shamrock Shuffle. I'm getting ready for another long run soon so I'm excited for that.

This weekend, I ran, got together with friends, and played mini golf. I also read more of Eat Pray Love. It was very relaxing. Although, I'm always surprised at how fast they go by. This week should be fun though. Tonight we are going to see the Jethro Tull concert. Can't wait! Also, we have a wedding to go to on Saturday.

What are you looking forward to this week?

My Life in a Post.

On Wednesday, we arrived to our dance lessons and no one was there. Not a single person. We were at the right place, and it was the right time. We even got the day right, which is hard for me sometimes. ha We couldn't believe that no one had called us to let us know it wasn't happening, and we also got charged for it too. It was a major bummer. I'm calling today to find out what happened to the lessons and hopefully getting our money back...

I'm hoping that we find another place to take a lesson or two at. I know there has to be a nice place around where we live. Anyways, I'm still greatly looking forward to this weekend. I am hoping it will be relaxing and fun. I'm thinking about checking out the new Hy-Vee store around us and finding out why people seem to like it so much. (Maybe, I'll even take a picture or two. Is that allowed? Oh well, we'll see.)

Also, on the agenda, a pedicure and manicure thanks to Bill's parents. :) They gave me a gift certificate for my birthday that I haven't used yet. Also, I think this whole weekend me and Bill are going to have the Jethro Tull concert on our minds. The concert is on Monday, and we are so excited! Jethro Tull seems to be everywhere lately, or maybe I'm just noticing. Last night, there was a Jethro Tull reference on 30 Rock. Sweetness. :) I definitely need to listen to a few of their songs before Monday.

Other than that, I am looking forward to lots of hugs and time with my sweetie.
I'm so thankful for him and everyone else.

I'm really big into routines.

I love checking my email in the morning almost as soon as I get out of bed.

I get off my computer almost as quick as I get on it. I love going running or doing yoga in the morning.

I feel like it starts my day off on a positive note.

One of my favorite things to do is break a sweat in the morning.

Running outside in the morning is a great way to wake up. There's something so special about starting your day off by doing something good for yourself.

After exercising and running around gathering my things, I grab a bite for breakfast. The morning has always been my favorite part of the day. I love waking up early and taking advantage of the day even if it means getting up at 5 a.m. What's your favorite part of the day?

Pictures taken this morning with my pup in my mom's garden. :)

Hello Monday!

This Father's Day weekend was definitely a success and way too short. On Saturday, Bill and I spent the day in Cedarburg, Wisconsin with one of sisters and her family. There were an abundance of cute shops and wine. We brought strawberry wine that tastes like real strawberries and ate some ice cream outside. It was really fun summer day, and we had a such a great time visiting with everyone. On Sunday, I had lunch with my dad and watched True Grit. He has probably watched it about 5 times already. :) It was my second time. I loved it! We also planted a garden later on in his yard which was pretty fun even though neither of us have much aptitude for gardening. We're still learning.

On another note, you might have wondered why I have posted a dancing photo. Bill and I are starting our dance lessons this Wednesday!! We're both pretty excited. We are taking Ballroom dance lessons, and I can't wait to start them. The anticipation is making this Monday a little more bearable. Happy Monday, friends!

P.S. I learned after writing this that it might be a little presumptuous to say that Billy is 'excited' about dance lessons. haha More like he is being super nice and tolerating it. He is the best for going to them with me!!

I'm Bursting at the Seams, Love!!!

Yesterday evening started off really good and quickly became A-MAZING!! Megan came home for the night and we go to hang out all. I loved hanging out! It gets better though... After dinner, I walked outside to get the mail, and I came across an envelop from 97.1 FM the Drive. The envelope was thick, and I just stared at it wondering if I had won free tickets to the Jethro Tull concert. I ripped it open, and I WON 2 TICKETS!!!! I started yelling in shock and jumping up and down. (Yes, I know I'm a dork.) Megan thought I was crazy and couldn't help but laugh. ;) She had no idea what I was so excited about.

Me with the Jethro Tull tickets!!

I wasn't able to tell Billy right away, but I was thrilled when I was finally able to tell him! He was shocked and SO HAPPY! He had been asking me for months if I won him Jethro Tull tickets for his birthday. (His whole family and him had also signed up online in order to have a chance to win the tickets.) Now, that I think of it I don't even really know one Jethro Tull's songs. I'm just excited for my sweety pea. :) Plus, I can't remember the last time I won something! It was a good day.

The Cutest Ice Cream Cone Eater

I took these pics coming back from the raceway. Bill's niece cracked me up with the way she was eating her ice cream cone. :) I couldn't stop laughing when she kept on smashing it into her face. Also, I might have been encouraging her to do that as well. ha! She's just too cute though!

A Fun Afternoon

Recently, I went to Meadowdale raceway with Billy and his sister Tracie and her family. We walked on over 3 miles of the old track. It was a really neat experience when we came up to the beginning of the track that was old asphalt.

I would have loved to have seen a race there. Some of the turns looked pretty dangerous.

Checking how far we walked.

You could still tell how wide it actually was.

The brave ones! hehe It didn't look that sturdy, and I wasn't about to go up there. :)

Instead, I took a picture right next to it.

Cutie pie.

We all took turns carrying the little one. :)

Billy and I on the old raceway. It was a beautiful day!

Hope your Tuesday is wonderful!

I Love How I Feel When

Sometimes, I get so caught up reading others' blogs that I don't have time to write my own. I need to find a bit of balance. I would love to write and continue to read your blogs even if I don't always comment. I have had something on my mind for a few days now that I've wanted to write about. I have been watching So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD), and I'm always struck by the talent of the strong and elegant dancers. I want to be stronger when I watch them. It's like I have something to look up to or work towards. Also, it makes that feeling of satisfaction greater after a hard workout.

The other day I ran just under 2 hours. I was really excited that I could run that far, especially with the half marathon coming up in September. I'm pretty close to my goal. At least mile wise.

I love knowing that I'm doing something healthy for myself by running and that I'm preparing for this race. I cannot wait to be running in Chicago! I had such a blast running around downtown for the Shamrock Shuffle. There were over 30,000 people there running. I've never ran with so many people. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back and run it again. Only 3 more months till the half!

One of the Best

This past Sunday, I celebrated my 24th birthday with my mom, brother, and Billy. Megan, my sister,  was working. I was totally bummed so I called her early in the day at work. I also went to an early breakfast with my dad and went to church with him. It was nice hanging out with him for a bit in the morning. Later in the day, I had steak for lunch with my family. It's totally one of my favorite meals. My mom had bought flowers for me and put them on the table. Definitely a nice touch. After eating, Billy and I went shopping, and he bought me my birthday presents!

I had so much fun, and Bill even had fun shopping with me.  I learned how much Bill wants me to wear dresses. Every pretty dress that we came across, he suggested that I get it. I guess I know what I  should be wearing more of now. After shopping, we went to a graduation party for a good friend of mine's younger brother. I had so much fun seeing them and talking with my friend. It was wonderful seeing her on my birthday.

Everything about my birthday made me smile. We even went swimming later in the day with one of Bill's sisters and nieces. Also, we're getting together with Bill's family tonight, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm lucky to have them in my life. :)
